On June 26th & 27th J2 attended the BMX Action Sports Dew Tour. The event was held at Grant Park in downtown Chicago.  This event in past years also held skateboarding and freestyle motocross competition, but this year separated the sports in different USA locations. On day 1 they had the dirt finals and J2 was able to see familiar faces such as pro rider Cori Nastazio that met J2 earlier in the year at another Chicago contest. J2 also got to meet and hang out with one of his favorite riders Stephen Murray.  Stephen Murray was involved in a horrific accident while doing a double back flip 3 years prior that resulted in a spinal cord injury.  Unfortunately it ended with Stephen being paralyzed at C3 level. A SCI may be the case but Stephen’s attitude was strong and he knows that the SCI is only a temporary set back. J2 and Stephen did a lot of hanging out that weekend and enjoyed each others company. They both know that they will ride again.

On day 2 of the Dew Tour the action got even more exciting with Park & Vert Finals. Before all that action J2 was able to meet up with his old riding buddies Koji Kraft & Jimmy Walker. Before J2 had his SCI he trained BMX & Vert Skateboarding at Scrap bike and board park in Hoffman Estates. He had ridden

there for 5 years with Jimmy & Koji. He also met up and again saw one of his favorite riders growing up Dennis McCoy or DMC as many people call them. J2 first met DMC when he was 12 years old at a contest at Scrap. They met once again 15 years later and have been meeting at various contests since then.  The rest of the day went great and J2 was also able to meet Skateboard industry legend Chris Pastras. He then sat in on his Fuel TV show The Dew Under Ground.

With all the excitement, pretty girls, and action that was going on J2 was definitely in his element. He’s happy he still gets a chance to come out to the contests and support the sports he loves. He also loves seeing old riding buddies and meeting new ones.
